Spritz Cookies

One of my favorite cookies is the Spritz Cookie. When done right, they are usually buttery with a taste of vanilla. And the fact that they are pretty easy to make is a definite plus. Honestly, we think these should be on every holiday baker’s list.

Nothing says holidays quite like gingerbread cookies. And with this recipe, you’ll be able to make the perfect cookie with all the flavor we expect from gingerbread. (And while we said gingerbread men, you can, of course, make women, dogs, basically any shape at all.)

Gingersnaps

While we are working with ginger, we may as well add the deliciousness that is gingersnaps to the list. These spicy, crisp cookies are winter perfection. Not only are they perfect for the holidays, but they are also a perfect flavor anytime it’s cold outside. And luckily, with this recipe, you get a perfect gingersnap cookie every time.

Pecan Roll-Ups

If ever there was a cookie perfect for pecan lovers it would be this one. These pecan roll-ups are pure perfection, and will also make you think of the holidays covered in snow thanks to the powdered sugar-coating. And thanks to the cream cheese used in this recipe, these are the kind of cookies that seem to melt in your mouth.

Jam Thumbprint Cookies

One of my favorite homemade cookies when I was younger, was my aunt’s jam-filled thumbprint cookies. While I may not have her recipe for them, I think this one does the job just as well. And yes, these really are quite easy to make.

Almond Crescent Cookies

When it comes to cookies, I have plenty of favorites. And another one on that list is the Italian Almond Crescent Cookie. These melt in your mouth shortbread cookies are infused with almond flavor and dusted with powder sugar for a treat you will want all season long.

Italian Holiday Cookies (Strufoli)

Whether it is spelled Strufoli or Struffoli (yes I have seen it both ways and it is spelled with one ‘F’ in my grandmother’s cookbook), these cookies are an Italian tradition. And they are not just for Christmas, these are also good for any major holiday. These little balls covered in honey are a must in our home and even my dad (who isn’t a sweets person) loves them.

Rugelach

First of all, it’s rugelach which is a perfect holiday cookie. Then there is the fact that they have been showing people make this cookie for the last few weeks on Food Network. And finally, we have a version of this cookie thanks to Ina Garten, and what’s not to love about that?
