Captain Marvel has finally hit theatres and geeks around the world are sharing their excitement through… you guessed it… food! Here are the best Captain Marvel treats you’ll want to enjoy.
Captain Marvel was released in theatres on International Women’s Day, and fans are definitely loving every minute of it! We have just what you need to make the Captain Marvel experience even better—food inspired by the titular hero herself. The best part? These treats can be enjoyed by everyone, not just superheroes.
For those still wondering what all the fuss is about, Captain Marvel is the first solo female-led film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which celebrated 10 years of superhero films in 2018. That is a long time to not have a female lead. Plus, a small group of ‘fans’ decided to criticize the film even before its release, based primarily on the fact that the protagonist was a woman and because Brie Larson wanted more people of color reviewing the film. Some even took to review websites such as Rotten Tomatoes to down-vote the film before seeing it.

1. Captain Marvel Cupcakes
Everyone loves cupcakes, and if there were cupcakes in space, Captain Marvel would definitely want to eat these delicious ones from Whiskey n Sunshine.
These cupcakes are inspired by our new favorite hero and sport her iconic insignia in yellow, red, and blue. You are going to need a fair bit of fondant and icing for this recipe, so get your hands warmed up in advance for all that rolling and squeezing.
Fortunately, recipe creator Jana Seitzer makes your life a bit easier by using a cake mix for the actual cupcake and leaves the decision to use multi-colored food coloring up to you. If you want to get the many-hued ombre of the cupcake, you will need to be precise and gentle with your use of food coloring. Or, you can add a single color to simplify the recipe. Either way, you’re going to get a delicious cupcake.
But the fun part of this cupcake recipe isn’t just the tasty crumb—there’s also some gorgeous frosting, which, admittedly is everyone’s favorite part of a cupcake. The frosting boasts the same colors as Captain Marvel’s uniform and will require some nifty work when filling the piping bag.
Top it all off with your fondant insignia, and there you have it, cupcakes that would make a superhero proud.

2. Captain Marvel Pies
This tasty recipe was created by Jenn Fujikawa and is featured on Marvel’s website no less, so we know it’s a good’un. These pies are another Captain Marvel Insignia-inspired treat, with fresh fruits standing in for the colors. Looks good enough to eat as far as we’re concerned.
You have the option of using ready-made pie crust for this recipe unless you’re the adventurous kind who makes their own pastry (if so, go you!). You’ll want to make sure your berries are cleaned and hulled before adding them in, and you definitely don’t want overly large pieces of fruit for these pies, so quarter them, or cut them to your satisfaction.
The tricky part is making Captain Marvel’s insignia out of pastry. You will want to print out a template beforehand for consistency unless you’re very talented and can do it free-hand. And then it’s a simple matter of placing the logo correctly and baking it in the oven.
We love the simplicity of this recipe, which is wonderfully at odds with our newest, and coolest, hero, who has a very complicated story. And that’s something you can mull over with your fellow geeks with a delicious little pie in your hand. As one does.

3. Captain Marvel Almond Sugar Cookies
Sugar cookies are great. They’re cute and fun and taste great on their own, or with a hot beverage. Add a superhero touch to it, and you’ve got yourself an unmissable treat.
This lovely recipe comes courtesy of baker Jazmin, writing for Sweet Cookie Journey, and it’s more than just a gorgeous-looking sugar cookie, it’s a super delicious one too.
You have the option to make your cookies whichever shape you like, but we quite like the circular shape and how well it showcases Captain Marvel’s logo. The cookie recipe is fairly simple to make, but the magic ingredient here is almond extract. Who doesn’t love an almond cookie?
Where you’re going to have to be dexterous is in the icing. Jazmin uses regular baking tools to simplify the job, but you will still need to keep your hands quite steady to get things right. However, as Jazmin adds, it doesn’t need to be perfect.
The pièce de résistance of this cookie—and the reason we love the look of it so much—is the addition of gold dust on the insignia. Jazmin leaves it up to you to decide whether you want to use it or not, but you have to admit, that gold dust elevates this beautiful cookie to another level. Not to mention that it’s pretty accurate. Captain Marvel’s suit definitely shines when she’s at full power, just like you will when you bite into this cookie.

4. Captain Marvel Cake
Share your love for Captain Marvel with your friends and family by baking them a cake. Monica of Popcorn Reviews made this delightful, and intricate, shag rug Captain Marvel cake, and so can you.
You have to start with making the cake, but Monica pretty much skips over this part, because, well, if you’re willing to attempt this cake, you’re already a great baker. Moving on!
It’s the decoration part of this cake that requires dexterity and skill, not to mention a reasonable number of ingredients. You’ll definitely want to use food gel coloring, so keep note of that, plus a few icing tools. You can’t achieve that shag rug look with a simple piping bag.
We love all the tips Monica has included in her blog that will make the process smoother, and give your cake that masterful look. She’s even thrown in a Captain Marvel star template for you to download. How thoughtful!
Creating the ‘strands’ of the rug is the hardest part of this exercise, and Monica has kindly given pointers to help you along. But there is no denying that it is a painstaking process, so if this is a project you want to take on, keep plenty of time in hand, and bring an extra dose of patience with you.
If you do manage to complete this mammoth ode to Captain Marvel (and we’re sure you will!), you definitely will have plenty of reason to be proud and well chuffed with yourself. Just look at how happy Monica looks with her creation!

5. Carol’s Cosmic Cookies
Amidst all the Captain Marvel goodies, Catherine Barson Eastis, owner of The Gluttonous Geek, created cookies that pay homage to the woman behind the suit—Carol Danvers—and her 90s origins. For most of the film, Carol Danvers doesn’t even know who she is. Well, one bite of these cosmic cookies would probably have brought her memories of Earth flooding right back.
These cosmic cookies are definitely the most innovative on this list. Catherine combines cake mix and blue raspberry Kool-Aid! Trippy, but we have to admit, we want to eat it just for nostalgia’s sake.
If that blue raspberry isn’t enough tartness for you, Catherine adds lemonade mix in the frosting and adds a good dollop of crushed lemon drops. Who needs a modified spacecraft when you’ve got these cookies? They’re tart enough to send us into the stratosphere.
If you can free-hand cut the shape of your cookie, that is a commendable skill, but Catherine suggests buying Bethlehem star cookie cutters, as they have a similar design to the Captain Marvel star. We would have liked a touch of red in these cookies but we have to admit that the blue and yellow look is incredibly attractive.
This is such a simple recipe to make, and the taste sounds unbelievable. Which is probably exactly what makes these cookies so much fun!

6. Captain Marvel Cookie Dough
There is this crazy obsession for cookie dough that will not go away, so why are we even surprised that the cookie dough craze has reached Captain Marvel’s door?
Jana Seitzer of Whisky n Sunshine is behind this funky recipe that is all about the sprinkles. You’re going to need a good amount of red and blue sprinkles, and gold star sprinkles, to get your Captain Marvel mojo going. Seriously, there are so many sprinkles here, we can’t help but love it.
Alongside the colorful sprinkles, you’re also going to need red, blue, and yellow gel food color for the batter, which you need to first separate into three different bowls. You will need to combine the colored cookie dough together and that will require some precision as you don’t want to mix the three batters completely—the colors should be distinct but melded.
The batter is the most time-consuming part of this recipe, but nowhere near as exhausting as making actual cookie dough. Once the batter is done, all you have to do is mix in those sprinkles for that delicious sugary pop.
This looks like quite an operation at first, but at the end of it, you have beautiful scoops of cookie dough that are completely safe and edible. Definitely worth any and all effort!

7. Captain Marvel Coffee Sugar Cookies
Shanna, the owner of the Pineapple and Coconut website, pays homage to one particular fondness that she shares with Carol Danvers—a love of coffee. We feel that very strongly.
Coffee is gorgeous in everything, but coffee cookies are up there as one of the best ways to use coffee in a sweetie. There was no way we weren’t going to include Shanna’s Captain Marvel Coffee Sugar cookies on this list!
There’s a healthy dose of coffee in this recipe—just the way we like it. Alongside coffee extract, Shanna also uses espresso powder for that extra kick. Alternatively, you can use finely ground fresh coffee, whatever is more convenient or better excites your taste buds. If you don’t like coffee or are allergic, Shanna gives you the option to make a vanilla version instead.
You also have a choice whether or not to ice the cookies. We tend to love cookies with icing, but you can make an impression of Captain Marvel’s star on the cookie dough before baking, or use icing after the cookies are done. Either way, you’re going to have a cookie that even Carol Danvers would love to eat along with her cuppa.
This recipe is stunning but what we also love about Shanna’s blog is the history she’s included about Captain Marvel. It’s enough to get you into the baking mood!

8. Captain Marvel Hero Passion Raspberry Tart
Okay, this is sadly not a recipe, but we’re hoping you can somehow recreate this tart at home because we want to eat it. Over at WDW News Today, Annie Wilson reviewed the Captain Marvel Hero Passion Raspberry Tart at Disney’s All-Star Music Resort. It looks amazing and delicious. We want it so bad!
We love the dome on this dessert and that startlingly bright blue mousse. That’s enough to catch anyone’s eye. But there’s also a stunning layer of red mousse under the blue that looks far too good to eat. And that flaky pastry is making our mouths water. Everything about this dessert is delicious-looking—even the image of Captain Marvel which is apparently also edible—that we want to dissect it immediately.
And it sounds like it tastes gorgeous as well. The blue mousse is raspberry-flavored, the red mousse is passionfruit. There are even passionfruit boba pearls (tapioca balls) in it to add intensity to the flavor. Of course, if you’re making this at home, you could opt to leave the boba pearls out if you don’t want intense flavors.
It looks like some skill and preparation will be involved in making this dessert, not to mention some tricky mathematics thanks to the flavor profile. It’s definitely not to be attempted by the faint of heart. Perhaps a hero will stand up amongst our midst to create this delicacy?
What dessert will you be enjoying in celebration of Captain Marvel’s success?
