Wendy’s is a fan-favorite fast food establishment that we all know and love. Ever wonder what used to be on the Wendy’s menu?
Let’s see which Wendy’s menu food items have been retired that we’d love to see return ASAP.
Sadly, and whether we like it or not, menu items at restaurants will come and go. Whether said food item was only here as a seasonal addition or just to freshen up a tired menu temporarily, restaurants and fast food joints are always looking to change things up a bit.

Fast food establishment, Wendy’s is certainly no exception to this whole idea. Below, we go over some of the many menu items the fast food restaurant has removed, never for us to see (or eat) it again! Unless, of course, Wendy’s surprises us by bringing it back!
In the following slides, we’ll not only take a look at certain menu items, but also why certain people like them, and what the menu items looks like so we can sit here, read this, and reminisce.
If you have a favorite past menu item off of Wendy’s menu that we forget to add here, stick around and let us know all about it in the comments down below and tell us just why you loved it so much and why it should be brought back ASAP!
Let’s begin! Here are four retired menu items we’d like to see return.

1. Coffee Toffee Twisted Frosty
Prior to doing some research here, I had never even heard of this. Being a coffee (and toffee) lover myself, I’m kind of sad that this frosty flavor no longer exists. It first got released back in 2009, with boy band based commercials, but just like any other fast food menu item, and boy bands too for that matter, it was retired just two short years later back in the Summer of 2011. How devastating (for both)!
If you’re looking for some sort of alternative that still exists in this world, try a Jamocha Shake from Arby’s! It’s got the perfect amount of balance between two tastes that are just absolutely unbeatable: coffee AND chocolate! What’s better than that? Not much, let me tell ya!
2. Pretzel Bacon Cheeseburger
This is definitely a menu item that I feel is so darn simple that I don’t understand why they took it away in the first place. I never really heard much about this Pretzel Bacon Burger at Wendy’s. Was it not popular with guests?
If you’re curious to try it and looking for the same type of concept, Burger King has a great Pretzel and Bacon Burger that is so mouth-watering, you will probably forget that Wendy’s ever had it (even though I never got the chance to try it for myself from Wendy’s).
I mean, come on, what is possibly better than bacon on a cheeseburger all brought together with a salty pretzel bun? I’ll wait…

3. Chicken Caesar Pita
While there was certainly a wrap craze in the 90’s, wraps are still hot stuff nowadays, as well, especially with me because anything in a tortilla just tastes better, don’t fight me. I personally love Chicken Caesar anything! Whether it’s a straight up salad or a wrap or sandwich of some sort, it’s just good stuff.
The Chicken Caesar Pita from Wendy’s was something that I never got the chance to try, but here’s what it was like: Essentially, it was a variation of one of their Fresh Stuffed Warps on their late-90’s menu that happend to be their most popular!
This is definitely something that you could make at home if you’re feeling a little lazy or don’t want to put too much effort into your meals.
4. Pepper Jack Bacon Burger
Yup, another burger on this list, and honestly, rightfully so. This burger is the newest menu item on the list here, as it was around just a few years ago back in 2016, following its original release back in 1996. Pepper Jack is one of my personal favorite cheeses, and on a cheeseburger with bacon? There’s no better flavor combo on a cheeseburger itself.
It’s pretty self-explanatory, and a bit of a twist on the classic cheese that’s on a normal Wendy’s, or any, cheeseburger really. This is definitely something you could make at home as well. Just grab some burger patties (beef, turkey, chicken, or whatever you’d like), some Pepper Jack cheese, crisp bacon, and any other burger toppings you fancy. All I can say is one thing: YUMM-O for Pepper Jack Cheese AND Bacon!

Honorable mentions
Some honorable mentions here, include the following menu items (in no particular order):
The SuperBar, Frescheta Deli-Based Sandwiches (various meats and/or flavors), All Things Queso Burger(s) among other queso-based menu items that no longer exist, as well as their Wild Mountain Grilled or Crispy Chicken Sandwich which has been recreated in many YouTube videos, and other recipe-based websites.
In addition, here’s a link to a Facebook Group that is just simply begging Wendy’s to bring the sandwich back! Start a movement like these guys and you may just see your favorite retired Wendy’s menu return some day. You just never know!
Remember, if you’ve tried anything from Wendy’s that you absolutely love, but they don’t sell or offer it anymore, let us know down in the comments below! Passionate about a favorite (past, of course) menu item of yours from Wendy’s? Start a petition to get it back!
Let your favorite fast food establishment know what you love and why you love it so much. Be creative and who knows, you could be the reason that certain menu items are resurrected. Let’s do this all together!
All in all, menu items come and go, but if the fans love it just enough, they’re a chance they’ll com back! What are your current favorite Wendy’s menu items?
