Truly embody the spirit of these NBA Playoffs with free Taco Bell

Taco Bell is offering free tacos during the NBA Finals, meaning you can truly and properly embody the spirit of these playoffs.

Another year of playoff basketball means another chance for everyone to win free tacos. In no other year has it been more suitable for Taco Bell to be closely associated with the NBA Playoffs. The quality of play has been laughable, with the two teams likely to meet in the NBA Finals set to do so with one loss between them.

Nevertheless, Taco Bell is offering free tacos to make it all up to us. As they did last year, Taco Bell is running their ‘Steal a Game, Steal a Taco’ promotion that gives every decent American a rooting interest in the NB Finals.

Here’s the cliff notes on how to score free Taco Bell during the NBA Finals:

  • The away team needs to win a game
  • On Tuesday, June 13, head to your local Taco Bell for one free Doritos Locos Taco
  • Pray to your God over whatever comes next

To be perfectly clear, this isn’t a promotion where you get a free taco each time at the away team wins — it’s a one-time deal. That being said, there’s a decent chance someone wins a road game in the NBA Finals. Golden State has yet to lose a game, and if they sweep another series that means they’ll need to win in Cleveland. The Cavaliers have only lost once, and if they want to gain serious momentum in the series they’ll need to capture one of the first two games in Golden State.

If continuity is what we want, then Cleveland is a safe bet. Taco Bell ran a similar promotion during the World Series, ‘Steal a Base, Steal a Taco’, which was fulfilled by Cleveland Indians infielder Francisco Lindor. LeBron, like Lindor, might not be destined to win the title but could at the very least help us out with free tacos.
