Haagen-Dazs Canada debuts boozy ice cream flavors that actually sound good, nay great

Today in things Canada has that the US doesn’t: Boozy pints of dessert-flavored premium ice cream.

Behold, the latest object of international envy: Haagen-Dazs Spirits. The global ice cream brand recently debuted a line of boozy ice cream flavors, all of which sound incredible. Unfortunately, like a bad shot of cheap liquor, the news that the pints are so far seemingly exclusive to Canada is terrible.

Still, it’s our duty to tease you anyways. Canadians are, as we live and breathe, indulging in Irish Cream Coffee Biscotti, Vodka Key Lime Pie, Rum Vanilla Caramel Blondie, Whiskey Chocolate Truffle and Rum Ginger Cookie.

While Delish reports that, with less that 1 percent alcohol content, the pints won’t get you drunk, you are highly encouraged, by Delish, by Guilty Eats and by Haagen-Dazs itself, to craft yourself a boozy milkshake with the ice cream as a base.

The thing about alcohol-infused anything is that the quality of the product really matters. Boozy whipped cream or boozy ice cream can taste really awful if it just tastes like someone swirled in a pint of vodka. (See: Most jello shots.)

What makes the Haagen-Dazs alcohol-filled ice cream pints so enticing is that they seem so well thought out as flavors. And, well, Haagen-Dazs has a history of executing ice cream extremely well.

Honestly, if you don’t believe us, just peruse Haagen-Dazs Canada’s Instagram for even a moment.

Treat…

…yourself…

…right.

As we alluded to, Haagen-Dazs Spirits are currently only being marketed in Canada. Hopefully, they’ll make their way south soon, it seems likely, given that Haagen-Dazs is no small boutique brand and the response has so far been positive.

If not, we may have to take our cues from the Prohibition days. It wouldn’t be the first time pints were smuggled across the border.
