Starbucks announces new summer menu
Starbucks, man, they’re always announcing fancy new seasonal drinks. Here’s what’s in store for the rest of summer.
From Pink and Ombre Drinks and Unicorn Frappuccinos to the Nitro Dirty Chai and S’mores Frappuccino, Starbucks has already debuted a slew of seasonal summer-oriented new beverages, to varying degrees of applause. But Starbucks is not stopping there. No, as we begin the second stretch of summer, Starbucks is providing even more vaguely seasonal food and drink options.
To drink, behold the Iced Cascara Coconut Milk Latte as well as new Shaken Iced Tea Infusions. To eat: a Chicken & Quinoa Protein Bowl or a Vegan Lentils and Vegetables Protein Bowl. (Also to eat: Starbucks’ whoopie pies in vanill abea and raspberry flavors and a strawberry cake pop.)
Allow us to explain more.
The Iced Cascara Coconut Milk Latte may sound familiar and that’s because it is. It’s essentially just an iced version of their populate Cascara Latte, which is a made with vanilla bean syrup, cascara syrup and cascara sugar. (Cascara is the dried fruit of coffee cherries.) The iced version is also made with coconut milk, which makes any drink more summer-y.
The new Shaken Iced Tea Infusions flavors are straightforward: Pineapple, Black Tea, Strawberry Green Tea and Peach Citrus Tea.
Also straightforward: If you stop by a participating Starbucks between 1 and 2 p.m. Friday July 14, you can receive a tall one for free.
Onto the food.
According to Delish, here’s what they’ve got:
"[The Chicken and Quinoa Protein Bowl] has features grilled white meat chicken, lettuce, quinoa, tomatoes, roasted corn, black beans, jicama, cotija cheese, and a side of tomato chili vinaigrette. The vegan bowl is a mix of brown rice, roasted tomatoes, sunflower seeds, and butternut squash. It’s served with lemon-tahini dressing. Each clocks in at more than 23 grams of protein."
If you’re really not here for the health, you may be more interested in their Seared Steak, Egg and Tomatillo Wrap breakfast burrito.
Or the strawberry cake pop.
Or the whoopie pies??
Happy summer to us all.
