IHOP is celebrating it’s 59th birthday, and is offering the most insane pancake deal  human beings might ever be able to experience.

There are deals of a lifetime, and then there’s whatever the hell IHOP is doing today.

It’s actually not hard to decipher what IHOP is doing. Today marks their 59th birthday, and in honor of that the chain is offering 59 cent pancakes — nationwide.

I know. Take a deep breath, we’re going to get through this together.

Saying this is the best pancake deal in the history of mankind is oozing with reckless hyperbole but there’s a time and place where such a thing is acceptable. That time is now and the place is IHOP.

Chances are you’re going to have to wait for a while, but it depends on where you are. A quick call to our local IHOP in Chicago (shear Wrigley Field) revealed that there was no wait for a table of four at 10am. But lunch rush could be a different story and there’s no saying what the chaos looked like during breakfast.

The question now is where does this deal rank among others that chains offer? Maybe we’re just into this idea because IHOP holds a weirdly special place in our hearts that we can’t really explain. No one is ever super compelled to go to IHOP — there’s no scenario where you wake up and it’s your first thought. People do not plan cross-country trips to visit IHOP, but it’s still a part of the journey.
