Chipotle wants to write you a song based on ingredients you like

Chipotle is offering up a buy-one-get-one deal, and all you have to do is listen to a custom-made song based on ingredients you like.

Man, it’s hard out there for Chipotle. The (artisan?) fast food chain has dealt with scandal after scandal — most of which involves ways the food was borderline toxic. In the wake of these scandals, the chain has tried time and time again to lure customers back into their stores. The best way to do this is free food, but Chipotle loves to make you work for it.

The latest example of this is a promo being run that involves free food, RZA from Wu Tang Clan and your favorite ingredients. Chipotle is asking you to choose your favorite ingredients so they can mix a song (produced by RZA).

Your reward is free food in the form of buy-one-get-one.

Here’s how it works:

  • Go to this URL
  • Pick the ingredients you usually choose at Chipotle
  • Listen to the song that ends up being created from your choices
  • Enter your information and enjoy your deal

That’s it. Granted, it’s a bit tedious as far as the hoops you need to jump through in order to get your free food. Then again if you’ve ever tried to get free Chipotle  before you know it’s not a process that comes with a lot of ease and relaxation. Free grub is free, though, so take that for what it’s worth.

The real caveat here is the ‘while supplies last’ tag. There’s a chance you sit through this whole process and then get nothing in return for it other than the feeling that you wasted your time.

Will this latest gimmick help Chipotle win back public trust? It might be beyond the point where that matters and this could be proof that Chipotle is comfortable with that ship having sailed.
