Here’s what someone who never had Burger King before thought of it

facebooktwitterreddit

A Redditor talked about the first time they tried Burger King and Wendy’s and what they thought about fast food.

Remember that kid who was raised to be a body builder and wasn’t allowed to eat chocolate? We all thought that was so terrible that he was missing out, and imagined what it would be like to be an adult and taste chocolate for the first time.

That’s kind of what happened to Redditor u/decreasingreligion. After a life of nothing but strict kosher dieting, this brave soul stepped into both a Burger King and a Wendy’s to see what they’d been missing out on their whole lives.

Turns out it wasn’t that much.

Here’s the story, and it’s worth a read:

"I tried Burger King and Wendy’s burgers for the first time ever. Here’s what I thought. from fastfood"

If you didn’t have time to read all of that — or just flat out didn’t want to — allow me to summarize. Here’s what our friendly Redditor thought of Burger King and Wendy’s:

Let’s be real though, a lot of people feel this way.

To be completely fair, things worked backwards here. As kids, we’re not really old enough to understand that there is ‘high class’ fast food. The Redditor states they came around to Five Guys and the like before trying Burger King — which is stacking the odds. That doesn’t make them wrong, it just helps explain the negative review. Burger King is alright on it’s own but when stacked up against somethings s fantastic as Five Guys, it’s like having a little leaguer bat against Pedro Martinez.

Burger King and Wendy’s have a place in this world, but lets not pretend it’s near the top. They both serve a purpose and it’s not one that everyone endorses. Five Guys isn’t fine dining, but it’s enough to tilt a palette away from thinking low-end fast food is anything other than an emergency-only thing.
