R.I.P. Buffalo Wild Wings’ Half-Off Tuesday wings special?

Buffalo Wild Wings giveth, Buffalo Wild Wings taketh away.

Bad news, wings fan. The change is in the air for Buffalo Wild Wings’ famous half-off wing deal. The special, which is offered nationwide on Tuesdays, lowers the price of traditional wings to about $0.60 per wing. However, a new deal will be in all locations by mid-September: A BOGO deal.

The BOGO “B-Dubs Blitz” yields one free small boneless wings with the purchase of the same. The BOGO offer is being rolled out now and will be in all locations by mid-September. Rumor has it the new BOGO deal is replacing the half-off special, however, a Buffalo Wild Wings representative said by email that the “franchise-owned” restaurants will continue to offer the Tuesday promotion “for the time being.”

The half-off deal was (is?) truly a steal and it may be because it was such highway robbery that B-Dubs is refocusing its promotional efforts. According to Food Beast, their sales weren’t exactly stellar and with the price of wholesale wings rising, the math was just not working out in their favor. And people love wings: U.S. consumers placed more than 1 billion wing orders between June 2016 and June 2017.

Buffalo Wild Wings is also celebrating it’s 35th anniversary (birthday?) this September. In honor of the occasion, B-Dubs is debuting a special menu.

According to Delish, the highlight of the menu will be the Blue Moon BBQ, made with Blue Moon beer, Valencia orange peel and coriander:

"Fans have been asking for the sauce, which first appeared in restaurants in 2015, to make a comeback. It’s also available in bottles, and for each one sold at a B-Dubs store, the restaurant will donate $1 to their Team Up for Kids philanthropy."

Of course, that’s not the only special sauce. B-Dubs is combining three fan favorites, Sweet BBQ, Honey BBQ and Mango Habanero — apparently, an intern crafted the recipe — for a new sauce called BBQ Mango Mashup.

Also coming back for a limited time is the B-Dubs Hot Bloody Mary made with the restaurant’s signature Ain’t No Thing But A Chicken Wing mix and Ketel One vodka.
