Fuller House – McDonald’s

Although not the most compelling series on Netflix, Fuller House is definitely one of the platforms most reassuring shows. The sequel to the TGIF staple Full House, every episode is suffused with nostalgia. For viewers who were children when the original aired, there’s something incredibly heartening about checking in with Danny Tanner (Bob Saget), Uncle Jesse (John Stamos) and Uncle Joey (Dave Coulier). Like going home for Thanksgiving or Christmas, watching the show gives views the chance to reconnect with who they used to be. Accordingly, the best fast food to pair with a new season of Fuller House is McDonald’s.

Regardless of your socioeconomic background, if you grew up in America there’s a good chance McDonald’s holds an indelible place in your childhood memories. Maybe it’s the place where you and the team went after Little League. Or maybe it’s where your parents took you for dinner after a particularly hectic workday. Whatever the reason for going, you probably have fond memories of biting into those perfectly soft Happy Meal cheeseburgers, munching on those crunchy chicken McNuggets and chowing down on handfuls of ketchup laden french fries.

To really submerge yourself in warm nostalgia, pair your next Fuller House viewing with some Mickey D’s. Stay away from the restaurants newer faux artisanal fair in favor of the classics. That means a box of nuggets, some McDoubles, a Filet-O-Fish, a McFlurry, a couple of those inexplicably delicious apple pies and loads of french fries. Bringing these two classic pieces of Americana together will be the closest you can get to time travel without a souped-up DeLorean.
