National Cheese Souffle Day: How to make a classic cheese soufflé
By Callum Gunn
Another day another food holiday. Today is National Cheese Souffle Day and this is how you can make yourself a classic cheese soufflé.
May 18 is National Cheese Souffle Day and while a cheese soufflé is a rather tasty dish, it is also one of the trickiest to get right. A delicate recipe that can easily go completely wrong if you slip up on just one step.
Too much salt, too much flour, not enough time in the oven and your soufflé will turn into a cheesy pile of gloop. So instead of looking at multiple different recipes that you can try out, we are just going to stick with how to make a classic and simple cheese soufflé.

Epicurious has a really good classic cheese soufflé recipe that is simple and easy to follow. It will feed 4-6 people. Just depends on how big a serving you give them, and only takes 25 minutes in the oven to cook.
All of the ingredients are nice and easy to get hold off. You can find them all at your local grocery store. The only ingredient you may find difficult to pick up is the Gruyère cheese.
Other than that tiny issue you should be all good at making a classic cheese soufflé on National Cheese Souffle Day. Just make sure you follow the steps exactly to ensure you soufflé actually turns into a soufflé and not a pile of gloop.
