PepsiCo buys SodaStream, what does this mean for Pepsi drinks?

PepsiCo is purchasing SodaStream, will this have an impact on Pepsi Drinks in any way? Will we soon see, or taste, a change in the fizzy drink?
Today, August 20, PepsiCo announced they intend to buy SodaStream for approximately $3.2 Billion Dollars. It’s a big investment and one that may impact your Pepsi Drink? But will it? What does this all mean for the future of Pepsi?
For anyone who has never heard of SodaStream, they make machines that allow consumers to carbonate their own home tap water. Basically, they allow you to make your very own fizzy drink at home which is usually much healthier than your regular bottle on the store shelves.

So you can easily see how PepsiCo buying SodaStream may impact their current fizzy drink line.
As things stand right now, there has been no official announcement about what PepsiCo intends to do with SodaStream once they have officially moved in. However, you can pretty much guarantee that something big will come from it eventually though.

With pressure coming down hard on fizzy drink companies like Pepsi and Coca-Cola to make their drinks healthier from the government, and with more consumers seeking a healthier lifestyle. PepsiCo and other fizzy drinks companies need to adapt to meet the new demand, and also, survive.
This is probably, although not confirmed, why PepsiCo has purchased SodaStream. This will likely be the start in what will be a transformation into a much healthier line of fizzy drinks.
