This is not a drill: The 7-Up pound cake is here
By Callum Gunn
Ever wanted 7-Up in pound cake form? Well, now you can get it. That is if you have an Aldi near you, as that’s where the 7-Up pound cake is available.
Aldi is bringing you two things that you love and mixing them together. That can sometimes leave you questioning reality, and I’m not sure if this is going to be one of those times but for now it’s all about the 7-Up pound cake.
Yes, you read that right.

So, maybe it’s not quite made with 7-Up. This is one of those cases where it looks like the naming is a gimmick to sell it. Or at least get people talking (and writing) about it.

The cake is “naturally flavored lemon and lime” with a lemon drizzle. It does have a light taste to it and it is a moist cake, according to Instagram user snackcellar.
It turns out that the cake is one of three. There’s a Dr. Pepper and a Crush Orange cake out there as well. The 7-Up pound cake certainly sounds like the more refreshing of the two and will likely taste just like a citrus cake. If you love lemon drizzle cakes, it’s likely that you’ll love this one.
The cake is now available in select Aldi stores (available nationwide at a later date, so it looks like it’s popular) and costs 3.99. That’s not actually bad for a cake to try one night. Don’t have the lid and serve it on a tray and people will never know what they’re actually eating. Once they love it, then you can tell them the truth!
