Number 4: Decaf does not mean caffeine-free!

Yeah, that’s right everyone. Every time you were drinking a cup of decaf coffee thinking you were avoiding caffeine, you weren’t.

No decaf coffee is caffeine free. All of them have caffeine in them, just not as much as a regular coffee does and that is the difference.

It really depends where you get your coffee from, because coffee chains do not sell identical caffeine levels of coffee, but to give a rough example. A regular, eight-ounce cup of decaf brewed coffee will contain anywhere between 2 – to -12 milligrams of caffeine.

Compared to a regular coffee which contains anywhere between 95 to 200 milligrams of caffeine.

So, in real terms, even though your decal coffee does contain caffeine, it is barely anything when you compare it to your regular coffee.

In fact, Coca-Cola contains more caffeine than a decaf coffee. Your standard size twelve-ounce bottle contains 25-35 milligrams.

So, don’t be concerned that you are getting caffeine in decaf, unless of course you have been strictly told by your doctor not to have any, but if you are choosing to limit your amount out of personal choice, or don’t want the jitters in the night, decaf is ok.
