7. Chili — Wendy’s

OK, so you’re wondering why this is on a holiday fast-food item list? Let me explain.

Wendy’s famed-chili is on the menu year-round, but for residents of colder states, this small (or large) cup of hot chili is actually a big seller during the holiday season. Some get it with their meal, and others just order the cup and go to town.

Wendy’s chili has taken on a life of its own. Many take Instagram photos with it to tell their friends how they’re staying warm. Others can eat cup-after-cup of this stuff. It’s not really hard to see why this is such a good cup of chili, and, for a fast-food restaurant, Wendy’s has perfected the art of this holiday food item.

To be honest? I wish more restaurants would serve chili as Wendy’s does. Yes, I know Stake N’ Shake has chili, but I’m not a big fan of the “Cincinnati style” chili that they serve. I prefer my chili to be basic, one of the few times that I actually take being basic over being extra.

Wendy’s chili is a warm reminder that the cold months are upon us, and, speaking of, I could use a cup of that hot chili right now, myself.
