21. Pumpkin Pancakes — Denny’s

There are some who will live and breathe IHOP pancakes and turn their nose at Denny’s. I know, I used to be one of those people.

Over the years, however, Denny’s has gotten its act together, especially when it comes to their pancakes. Just in time for the holidays, America’s favorite diner is bringing back their famed Pumpkin Pancakes. Now, some may turn their noses up at the pumpkin pancake, but, let me remind you, that pumpkin-anything is one of the great reasons why the holidays are the best time of the year.

Why is pumpkin a staple for the holiday season? To be honest, I really don’t know why the pumpkin flavor is so popular at this time of the year. Maybe it reminds people of the cold that will be upon us? I’m not so sure, but, Pumpkin flavor has become big, and you can thank a certain coffee chain for that (more on this later).

You can get the standalone Pumpkin Pancakes, or, you can upgrade to them for just 49-cents as part of their $5.99 Super Slam, which is a giant meal until itself. I recommend forking over the 49-cents and getting the pancakes as part of the Super Slam. That way, you can get your fill of holiday flavor in the morning, or evening, depending on which type of the day you love breakfast the most.
