Number 16. KFC Pickle Fried Chicken

Menu item: Pickle Fried Chicken

Fast food vendor: KFC

What is it and what is it made of?

The famous seasoned and breaded fried KFC chicken is covered in a pickle sauce which has been combined with both dill and vinegar flavors. With the additions of some black and white pepper, onion, garlic, and buttermilk. The KFC Pickle Fried Chicken is then given more pickles. Because, well I don’t know why really. They just thought they needed more pickles on it for some reason.

Why does it need to be removed?

It’s pickle overkill, pure and simple. Obviously, those of us who don’t like pickles are not going to come near this fast food menu with a ten-foot barge pole. But even those of us who are pickle fans would find this just too much.

At the end of the day, a pickle is a condiment. It is supposed to go on top of the chicken. With the option of being able to be take off a pickle or two, so you can get the taste just right for you. Infusing it into a sauce is not what you’re supposed to do with pickles.

Thankfully, this was a limited edition fast food menu item this year. Fingers crossed we will not be seeing it return anytime soon. If it does, however, please avoid it. It’s, it’s just too much.
