Number 11. McDonald’s Big Mac

Menu item: Big Mac

Fast food vendor: McDonald’s

What is it and what is it made of?

The Big Mac consists of two 100% beef patties, a single slice of cheese, some lettuce, diced onions, pickles, and signature Big Mac sauce. All put together on a sesame seed club bun.

Why does it need to be removed?

Oh yes. One of the most well known, and most purchased burgers ever to grace a fast food menu needs to go. The Big Mac by McDonald’s needs to leave the menu as soon as possible.

You see the thing is. While it might be an internationally recognized burger and one of McDonald’s most purchased items on their menu. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s any good.

The Big Mac has been around for 50 years now, and in that 50 years, not much has changed. The biggest change we have seen is how un-special the burger has become. Which is the reason it should be dispensed off, leaving room for another specialty burger to come in and take its place.

It no longer fits anywhere. You can’t call the Big-Mac a specialty burger anymore, because it’s been around for so long, but unlike other burgers that have been around for just as long, the cheeseburger and the hamburger, for example, the Big Mac isn’t a classic burger or an option for the kid’s menu. So instead, it has become this staple menu item that we no longer choose unless we are pushed for time, and are unable to consult the new menu.

It’s time to move aside Big Mac, let someone else come in.
