18. Melt Bar and Grilled — Ohio

Yep, we’re going to stay in the Buckeye State and pick a restaurant that will murder New Year’s Resolutions just by getting to within 10 feet of it.

We’re talking about Melt Bar and Grilled, which takes the simple concept of the grilled cheese to an entirely new level.  The creations of Melt is something that will truly scare the dickens out of healthy eaters. The extreme creations, such as the “Lake Erie Monster,” is what drives people here in droves, and the restaurant has been featured on such national channels such as the Food Network.

Melt Bar and Grilled has grown from a single restaurant to a chain throughout Ohio. Oh, and for those who want some beer to wash down that extreme grilled cheese, Melt will have you covered in that department, with a number of great tap beers that will add to the atmosphere.

While the grilled cheese sandwiches are what drive the crowds, the restaurant has other staples that will be of interest to foodies. As one can expect, cheese is the main ingredient of most of the menu, including the nachos, which can easily rival the Melts. Even since they opened their first restaurant in suburban Lakewood in 2006, the restaurant has taken the grilled cheese melt to a new level.
