12. Two Little Red Hens — New York City

Bakeries and New York City go together like dinner and red wine.

No, that was a terrible analogy, but it’s in there now, so we just have to live with it. You all get what we’re writing, that bakeries in New York City are simply on a par that few other cities can touch. That’s what makes it so hard for us to pick out one bakery to get your fill of chocolate cake on Chocolate Cake day.

Nevertheless, we had to turn to Yelp to get the pick, which turned out to be an adventure of its own as many have an average of four stars. Ugh, why does this has to be so hard!?

So, there was a Plan B, which was to flip a coin and see what happens.

The winner was Two Little Red Hens.

Now, contrary to their name, Two Little Red Hens is not a place that serves up the famous poultry, but one that has the best cakes and pies in Manhattan. Sure, this place may be a bit on the expensive side, but it will be worth it once you check out their awesome selections.

Of course, with it being Chocolate Cake Day in all, you’ll want something with some chocolate in it, and for that, try the blackout cake, which is just as good as it sounds. Two Little Red Hens also has cupcakes and pies for your pleasure as well, if you’re not a cake person.
