20 best spots in America to grab a slice of Chocolate Cake Day

3. Kooie Haven — Dallas, TX
Believe it or not, this is the first bakery that we ran into that has a perfect average score on Yelp.
That’s because Kookie Haven truly is a haven for Dallas area cake fans.
Now, there are plenty of bakeries that serve up a great chocolate cake in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. This is a sprawling metropolitan area that has a ton, and we do mean a ton of places to grab a slice of cake.
But Kookie Haven has the ability to rise above them all.
Sitting in the Oak Cliff area of South Dallas, Kookie Haven is part of the revitalization of this once-rundown area of Big D. A place like Kookie Haven fits perfectly within Oak Cliff’s rebirth and the bakery has garnered national attention for its great cake creations.
However, one cannot pass up their chocolate cake, which is moist to the point of happy tears and contains a “chocolate surprise” for all those who venture into this realm of cake heaven. Also not to be missed is the chocolate peanut butter cake, which, if you love peanut butter, you will absolutely fall in deep love with this cake.
If you want that cake, you’ll have to pre-order it as it’s not in their regular rotation of cakes.
Neither is the extremely satisfying German chocolate cake, which is rich in texture and taste and, quite possibly, the best German chocolate frosting we’ve ever tasted. This cake is only available two-days of the week, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
