12. Medieval Times

Whoever said an eating food with your hands while watching people fight in a middle age duel doesn’t make for a great date night?

Well, if you say no, then you may need to get some fun in your life.

Sure, Medieval Times is touristy and built to entertain kids as well as adults, but if you’re looking for an unconventional Valentine’s date night that your love will truly enjoy, then you can’t go wrong with this chain of dinner theaters.

You get the best of both worlds at Medieval Times. You get some pretty good food and you get a show. What’s not to like about this arrangement? Not a lot of people, I can tell you that.

In 1983, when new wave and big hair was all the rage, the first Medieval Times opened in suburban Orlando, Florida, and the concept quickly took off. Three years later, Medieval Times would expand to the West Coast, and by the early ’90s, it had six locations and was in the stage of opening up their first non-U.S. theatre in Toronto.

Three more locations have opened up since then, bringing the concept of joust fighting and eating with your fingers to fans everywhere. This dinner theater truly would make for a fun Valentine’s date night, one that you will be able to brag about until the next Valentine’s Day when your love will be expecting something a little more, shall I say, civil.

But why would they want something more “civil?” That’s boring.

Sharing dinner with your love and watching a joust? That’s exciting.
