21. Bonefish Grill

For those who are in seafood-rich areas of America, the thought of celebrating Valentine’s Day at a chain seafood restaurant may seem like an insult.

But for those who aren’t close to a coastline, and are in search of some nice seafood in an intimate atmosphere, you can’t beat Bonefish Grill, which can be considered a kindred cousin to Outback Steakhouse, since they’re both owned by the same company, anyway.

Bonefish Grill came into existence in 2000 in St. Petersburg, Florida, a city where one can throw a penny and hit a good seafood restaurant. It was a small, independent chain for one year before Bloomin’ Brands, which is based across the Bay in Tampa, snatched up the restaurant and took the concept nationwide.

Today, Bonefish Grill operates over 215 restaurants, though that store count has shrunk, somewhat, over the years. What makes Bonefish Grill a great spot for Valentine’s Day is that it’s only open for dinner, no brunch allowed, and the atmosphere is geared more toward adults looking for some quality time.

You want to enjoy seafood with the family, go to Red Lobster. Bonefish Grill is not really geared toward families, nor should it be. It’s a nice concept that has more of an adult flair, with the drinks and all, and it will make for an even better place for a nice Valentine’s date night.

So, with that said, enjoy that fish with your love, and know that you will be doing it in peace.
