Rose wines
When I was younger, I always turned to rose wines when I wanted to feel sophisticated. But, the reality is that rose is so much more than a fashion statement. Rose wines are a cross between red and white, as they get a bit of the coloring from the skin of the grape, but not enough to make them qualify as a red.
And with primary flavors of citrus and melon, as well as a bit of crispness, this is a refreshing wine that also has a touch of dryness for the perfect sip. For many people, rose wines are a summer staple, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy them year round. And with these bottles under $20, you can without spending a lot of money.
Risata Pink Moscato – No surprise here, I had to include the pink Moscato from Risata. This is a wine that gives you hints of some of your favorite fruits, like strawberry and cherry. And with a well-balanced, and slightly sweet finish, this is a rose wine that you can enjoy with spicy foods or even something saltier. Plus, with bottles around $14 each, you don’t have to worry about busting your wine budget.
Relax Pink Rose – As a fan of the Relax Riesling, it just made sense for me to give their Pink Rose a chance. And I am so glad I did, as this wine is both crisp and soft with hints of raspberry, cherry, and strawberry. Not only is this bottle only going to cost about $10, but the fact that it pairs well with my favorite things like cheese and chocolate make it a perfect pick up.
Menage a Trois California Rose – Menage a Trois has an entire line of amazing wines that work perfectly for our inexpensive wines. And their California Rose is a must try. For about $11 per bottle, this is a rose that is rich in flavors of strawberry, tropical fruit, and raspberries. Perfect when chilled, I think this is the kind of wine you want to pair with lighter foods, such as salads and even seafood.
There are a lot of wines on the market, and with plenty of options under $15, you may not know what is worth picking up. But, with these bottles of wine we don’t think you will be disappointed. Plus, the fact that you’re not going to break the bank while indulging means that even if you decide this is not the bottle for you, you’ll know you didn’t spend a lot of money.
