MIAMI BEACH, FL – APRIL 05: Peope enjoy the beach on April 5, 2016 in Miami Beach, Florida. A report by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists referred to as the ‘Panama Papers,’ based on information anonymously leaked from the Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonesca, indicates possible connections between condo purchases in South Florida and money laundering. 4. Burgers and Shakes — Miami Beach

The name may be simple, especially given its prime location in Miami Beach, but, trust us, the name is deceiving, as the burgers here are anything but simple.

In truth, you’re going to have to take a little trip north to get to Burgers and Shakes.  It’s located in the North Beach area, a good ways away from the famous South Beach area of Miami Beach. Ask anyone, both locals and visitors, about the best place on “The Beach” to get a great burger, and they’ll tell you to make the trip north toward Burgers and Shakes.

As soon as you walk into Burgers and Shakes, the restaurant seems to drip in history, both on its walls and on its menu. Burgers and Shakes are known for their “Sliders,” mini-burgers that pack a whole lot of flavor. The difference between Burgers and Shakes sliders and the ones you normally see are that these babies are served on a mini pretzel bun, which makes the burger stand out.

Don’t want a slide? Burgers and Shakes have you covered with a variety of great creations. For the healthy burger eater, try their Veggie Burger, which has grilled portabella mushrooms, roasted red peppers, baby arugula, roasted tomato, mozzarella cheese, and presto to make you forget all about the burger.

Need a little “island love?” For you, theirs the Mahi-Mahi, grilled mahi-mahi that’s topped with pickles, tomato, lettuce, and their own caper tartar sauce that, quite frankly, could go on any burger. Then, there’s the B&S Burger, topped with provolone cheese, tomato, lettuce, onions, Applewood Bacon (yes!), and a fried egg, a burger made for the people.

There are more to choose from on the menu, and to wash it all down, make sure you order one of their classic shakes.

In addition to their original location on The Beach, Burgers, and Shakes has planted a second location in Broward County.
