Street food has really taken off in Florida over the past few years, and South Florida has not missed out on the wave. In an area covered with great street grills, one stands out the most — Gilbert’s 17th Street Grill in Fort Lauderdale.

Which is why it has made the list of best burger restaurants in South Florida. Situated in a shopping center in the Harbordale neighborhood not-too-far from Fort Lauderdale Beach, Gilbert’s has taken the street grill concept to a whole other level. What’s also quite a show are their burgers, certified Angus goodness that will keep you coming back. One burger that you must try is the Louisiana Cajun, which is packed with so much Cajun flavor, it will have you thinking that you’re in the Big Easy. Another great burger you should try is The Godfather, and this burger certainly is the boss of their burger menu.

But, if you’re in for a challenge to test your spice level, then may we suggest The Hottest Burger, which is made with hot sauce made in-house, bacon, and ghost pepper jack cheese. This burger will truly test your hotness, and it’s worth every bit of the $14.95 this burger costs.

If you can finish it, that is.
