2. Fruity Pebbles

Oh, Post Foods, where did you go so wrong?

If you’re reading this and you’re under the age of 10, then you will be quite confused as to why Fruity Pebbles is one of the worst cereals of all time. For those over 10, you will know exactly why Fruity Pebbles is a cereal that simply should not exist, ever.

Back in 1971, the smart folks at Post Foods decided to make a cereal after The Flinstones, which was pretty big at the time. So, they experimented a bit, and came up with the “spokestoons,” a cereal doused with different types of food coloring, made to resemble the pebbles found on the cartoon.

Fruity Pebbles premiered, and it quickly became a hit with the kiddos; but, with adults, no one could ever get over the fact that, if stayed in the milk too long, would get so soggy, it would look just utterly disgusting. Despite the extream sogginess, kids continued to eat it on Saturday mornings, parents and adults continued to shun it, and, to this day, Fruity Pebbles has become the oldest cereal brand named after a television series.

I wanted to like Fruity Pebbles when I first tried it, I really did. That extream sogginess, however, is something that will continue to haunt me, and it would have been number one on this list if it wasn’t for another Post Foods cereal that is greatly despised everywhere.
