For those still wondering what all the fuss is about, Captain Marvel is the first solo female-led film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which celebrated 10 years of superhero films in 2018. That is a long time to not have a female lead. Plus, a small group of ‘fans’ decided to criticize the film even before its release, based primarily on the fact that the protagonist was a woman and because Brie Larson wanted more people of color reviewing the film. Some even took to review websites such as Rotten Tomatoes to down-vote the film before seeing it.
