3. Lehne Burger — Cape Coral

Sitting on the main drag in beautiful Cape Coral, just down the road from the Southwest Military Museum, sits this small restaurant that packs quite a punch in Southwest Florida’s burger scene.

Welcome to Lehne Burger (1232 Cape Coral Pkwy E., 239-347-7115), where the bright orange and lime green will hit your eyes as soon as you step into the door. Lehne Burger takes on that classic ’50s diner-vibe that certainly makes it stand out in a city well-known for its vast canal system.

Even more than the delightfully funky decor, however, is their burger menu, in which, for $9.99, you can create your own burger masterpiece. In fact, that’s what many in Cape Coral love about Lehne Burger, the fact that you can become a “Burger Picasso” and make the burger of your dreams.

And you don’t even need that beef patty. If you’re feeling funky, you can use pulled pork, chicken breast, turkey patty, even a strip steak as the base. You’ll then have your choice of bun, toppings, sides, and sauce, which will have you thanking the heavens for bringing you this gem of a burger establishment.

To complement your new burger creation, go with Bob’s Famous Tater Tots, which are topped with bacon bits, green onions, nacho cheese, and sour cream. Oh, and Lehne Burger has an extensive drink menu, from beer, create-your-own milkshakes, the latter of which will certainly be a hit with the kiddos!
