1. Camellia Street Grill – Everglades City
If you’re looking for great adventure in Southwest Florida, take a trip down the Tamiami Trail, and before you hit the Everglades, hook a right on CR 29 in Carnestown and take it all the way down to Everglades City.
To the naked eye, Everglades City may not be much to look at, but look deeper and you’ll find an Old Florida town packed with small town charm, and that mentality is extended to its restaurants. One such restaurant that celebrates the “Glades Life” is Camellia Street Grill (202 Camellia St., 239-695-2003), which will take some time to find, but, once you do, you’ll never forget your time here.
Camellia Street Grill is what you would envision in this untamed part of the Sunshine State — a Glades vibe where their motto is “Live, Love, and Eat Stone Crab,” and there is nothing wrong with that motto! Camellia Street Grille is famous for its seafood, but there is are some rather unique burgers that one needs to try here.
Make a dive for the Big Texan, which is topped with coleslaw, pickles, and chipotle sauce. Or, you can go for the Black Angus, which is topped with bacon and cheese. As mentioned earlier, Camellia Street Grill is famous for its seafood, so you can’t leave here without trying the Oyster Po’Boy, which is served up with bacon and drizzled with their awesome chipotle sauce.
Oh, and did I mention that your meal comes with spectacular views of the Everglades? Well, I just did, and you’re welcome.
