International Waffle Day: Why waffles are the best breakfast food ever
March 25 is International Waffle Day! Save the pancakes for another day. Today, it’s time to chow down on everyone’s favorite breakfast treat, waffles!
There has been a debate for forever about which carb-heavy breakfast food is better: waffles or pancakes? But let’s be honest, the waffle is always going to be the winner. Who doesn’t love a waffle? They are the perfect way to warm your belly in the morning. They’re soft on the inside and crunchy on the outside and can be customized to fit just about anyone’s taste.
Chocolate lover? Throw some chocolate chips in the batter and drizzle it with chocolate syrup. Want to add fruit? Bananas and strawberries are great on top of waffles and blueberries are the perfect mix-in.
Want to satisfy your sweet tooth? You can pour syrup over your waffles, sprinkle on some powdered sugar, add some whipped cream, or just go crazy and pile it high with whatever ice cream is your fave.
