Celebrate Avengers: Endgame with some delicious food from the MCU

Churros
Spider-Man’s return to the Marvel fold was an extremely welcome development and his appearance in Captain America: Civil War nearly stole the show. Tom Holland’s Peter Parker is young, energetic, and enthusiastic about being an Avenger, exactly what we want in a hero.
Unfortunately, fighting alongside #TeamIronMan didn’t exactly cement the wall-crawler’s place on the Avengers, which meant poor Peter had to go back to being a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Instead of fighting the big guns, he was stuck stopping bike thieves and helping little old ladies find their way. Not very exciting, but the lady did give him a churro, which is more than most superheroes get for their efforts.
The churro scene in Spider-Man: Homecoming was poignant, not just for encapsulating how much Peter wanted to be an Avenger, but also the kindness of the people in Spider-Man’s neighborhood. Following the events of Civil War, where the government pretty much turned on the people who were saving them, it was great to see that the people on the ground still appreciated the work that the superheroes were doing for them.
Spider-Man finally did get to be an Avenger in Avengers: Infinity War, but that didn’t go well for him as he ended up being one of the millions who was dusted by Thanos. His return may have been spoiled by the existence of the Spider-Man: Far From Home trailer, but whatever Spider-Man’s fate in the MCU, we can all enjoy a churro in his honor as we watch Avengers: Endgame.
