Celebrate Avengers: Endgame with some delicious food from the MCU

Most fans of the MCU wouldn’t even have noticed the subtle food moments in the franchise had it not been for one very memorable shawarma scene. The Avengers was a massive cinematic achievement which brought together characters from the Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor films for one mega-blockbuster.
The stakes were high in the film—all of New York, and possibly the world, was about to be destroyed by alien forces—and it took all six Avengers to save everyone. But when all was done and dusted, and Iron Man had almost died but somehow lived, it was time to unwind at a shawarma place Tony had seen earlier in the film.

The end credits sequence of The Avengers sitting together eating shawarmas has become iconic and cemented the now-mandatory end credits scenes in even non-superhero films. But what makes the scene stand out is that it is one of the rare moments of quiet in a franchise that is known for grandiose action and plenty of CGI. It’s great to see the heroes just sitting together, munching on food, much like a family would do after a long hard day at work. And that’s what the Avengers are really about, family. And what better way to bring a family together than with food?
Avengers: Endgame is going to have so much happened in it, with so many moments that will give us joy, and tear us apart, so when the dust settles, we suggest going to your nearest Middle Eastern restaurant or store, and raising shawarma to our beloved heroes.
