New Kit Kat Duos Mint + Dark Chocolate taste test: Do they live up to the hype?

Kit Kat is debuting a new flavor, Duos Mint + Dark Chocolate, and we got to give these new treats a taste test!

A limited amount of Kit Kat Duos Mint + Dark Chocolate shipped across the states into the taste buds of foodies — and Guilty Eats was one of the lucky few! What do we think of the new flavor hitting shelves in a few months? Does it live up to the hype? Is there a toothpaste after-taste? Is it as crunchy as ever? Here’s our review!

Kit Kat Duos Mint + Dark Chocolate combine two flavors: mint on the top half, dark chocolate on the bottom half, surrounding Kit Kat’s iconic crispy wafer. The result? Our taste bud judges say “more, please!” — we love it.

While we’re grateful to have been selected to try out the Kit Kat Duos, the new flavor won’t launch in stores until December 2019, so we have a long wait ahead!

The taste of mint by far overpowers the dark chocolate, so this is definitely a chocolate for you if mint goodies are your thing. If you’re not into minty flavors, not so much! As much as mint takes over, though, it’s not overwhelming or gives a toothpaste vibe. The flavor is unquestionably refreshing and the crunch is an added bonus!

The Kit Kat Duos Mint + Dark Chocolate would be your average mint chocolate candy if it weren’t for Kit Kat’s crunchy wafer, which really gives it that extra kick. Another thing I noticed is that these chocolates feel lighter, which is expected from both mint and dark chocolate flavors. Unlike milk or white chocolate, mint and dark chocolate won’t leave you feeling overstuffed.

Even though we have to wait until December 2019 to enjoy them again, the Kit Kat Duos Mint + Dark Chocolate flavor is a permanent addition to the brand. So they will be here to stay!
