Happy Cinco de Mayo! It’s time to hunt for a tasty margarita to drink outside in the patio along with some chips and salsa! Which restaurants and fast food places are open?
Cinco de Mayo comes in at a perfect time — it’s patio weather! The sun is shining (but it isn’t too bright or too hot), there’s a light cool wind in the air, basically, the weather is perfect to sit outside in the patio of our favorite restaurant and sip on a margarita.
Where will you go this Cinco de Mayo? Which restaurants are open? What about your favorite fast food joint? Here’s what we know!
Fortunately for us all, no business that we know of closes their doors on Cinco de Mayo, on the contrary, they are swung wide open. It’s a holiday many restaurants look forward to, actually. Why? Business is blooming! Especially if the restaurant sells margaritas. Many of them are even trying to attract more guests with drink and food specials.
There is one place that doesn’t open today, though, a big favorite. And that’s Chick-fil-A. Nothing against Cinco de Mayo, though the restaurant doesn’t serve alcohol. Chick-fil-A is simply not open on any Sunday, no exceptions. So, with Cinco de Mayo falling on a Sunday this year, Chick-fil-A is taking the day off.
Other than that, all restaurant locations and fast food joints that regularly open Sundays are open for business today.
Be sure to keep an eye out for specials at Tex-Mex and Mexican restaurants, as they are sure to have drink specials. We especially recommend checking out Chili’s Grill and Bar and On the Border locations.
At On the Border, enjoy $5 Cinco ‘Ritas, tequila shot specials and more! While at Chili’s restaurants, get a special (free) Cinco de Mayo cup to take home and keep to remember the fun times you had at Chili’s, and for just $5 get any local Chili’s Draft Beer, a Presidente Margarita, or May’s Margarita of the Month.
How will you be celebrating Cinco de Mayo?
