Game of Thrones isn’t the only one we have to say goodbye to, SodaStream also wants us to wave farewell to all plastic!
The Mountain aka Ser Gregor (portrayed by Thor Bjornsson) faced off against The Hound aka Sandor in the penultimate episode of Game of Thrones. In the latest SodaStream ad, however, he takes on plastic bottles and how annoying and difficult it is to carry them up a flight of stairs.
It’s the promotional team up we never knew we needed to see! SodaStream and Hodor (Kristian Nairn), The Mountain (Thor Bjornsson), and Septa (Hannah Waddingham). This trio helps SodaStream truly put it into perspective how much better SodaStream is than plastic bottles.
Watch the promotional video, below:
The ad is appropriately titled “Say Goodbye,” since we are saying farewell to more than plastic bottles here, Game of Thrones premieres its series finale on Sunday, May 19.
In the ad, we see the cast struggle with the plastic bottles in a different way before they are shown SodaStream and how simple (and convenient for both yourself and the environment) it is to use.

“We are always looking for fun and exciting ways to convey the message that we can enjoy fresh sparkling beverages in a planet-friendly way,” SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum said about the promotional ad. Well, if Birnbaum wanted “fun and exciting,” nothing does it quite like Game of Thrones, especially such popular characters.
