Burger King, long known for their burgers, is now promoting a new $1 Taco on their value menu.
I’d never thought I would see the day when I would write about Burger King selling tacos. Well, I have now officially seen the day.
For a limited time only, Burger King is bringing back their hard-shell taco for only a $1. This price applies to all states outside of Alaska and Hawaii, who will be asked to shell out a higher price for the tacos.
So why is Burger King all-of-a-sudden go-go for tacos? For that answer, we have to take a quick trip to the West Coast, where Burger King has long sold tacos in its restaurants.
Chris Finazzo, president of Burger King North America, said that he wanted to bring the West Coast tacos nationwide, and figures that the “Crispy Taco” could be a hit nationwide.
The taco will be filled with seasoned beef, shredded cheddar cheese, and crisp lettuce, all of your standard taco fillings. What will set Burger King apart from its competitors, however, is their savory taco sauce, which should give Taco Bell a run for its money.

The Crispy Taco had a soft launch at some locations before its July 9 nationwide rollout, and some customers were kind of torn about Burger King selling tacos. However, the tacos are perfectly in line with the direction that Burger King — and other fast food titans — are heading, branching out beyond the standard burgers and offering more diverse items such as mozzarella sticks and tacos.
Look for us to give our take on the Crispy Taco in a future edition of “Guilty Taste.”
