Starbucks offers free refills and we had no idea!

Heads up Starbucks fans. Free refills are available at the coffee giants and apparently, this has been possible for years. How did we not know this?

I think it is safe to say that we all like a good freebie. I think it is even safer to say that we all love Starbucks as well. Yet freebies have been available to all of us for years at the coffee giants and we have just been flat out ignoring it.

I hang my head in shame for not knowing until today.

So, here is how it works. Free refills on brewed coffee and tea are available to customers as long as they follow certain steps. You will be pleased to hear that there aren’t many steps that need to be followed. There are four in total and all of them are relatively straightforward.

OK, so the first thing you need to do is purchase your first drink with the Starbucks app, or your registered Starbucks Card.

Once you are finished with the first drink that you bought and paid for, you need to visit the cashier and present the Starbucks app or card, whichever one you used when paying for your first drink and ask for the free refill.

Your options for the free refill are then presented and unfortunately, they are a bit limited when it comes to the choice available, but hey, it’s free, we shouldn’t complain. You can opt for tea, hot or cold, or, a brewed coffee, again, hot or cold.

The last thing you need to be aware of, and this is the real kicker, in order to qualify for all of the above, you cannot leave the Starbucks chain with the drink you purchased. As soon as you leave the premises you lose the option of gaining that free drink.

And that is it. That is how you can get yourself a free refill at Starbucks. Like I said earlier, it has always been available and is made as clear as day to all of us on the official Starbucks website.
