Next on our list: Orlando, Portland, and more!

3. Boma-Flavors of Africa — Orlando, FL

Yes, this African restaurant sits within Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, but trust me, it’s one of the best African restaurants not just in Central Florida, but in the nation. Boma’s cuisine is simply an experience, and two dishes you must try are the Bobotie and the Fufu. Make sure you leave room for dessert, as the Zebra Domes are simply life.

2. Horn of Africa — Portland, OR

For those that say Portland doesn’t have any diversity within its food scene, point them to Horn of Africa. It may be an off-the-radar place, but Horn of Africa serves up, quite possibly, the most authentic African cuisine in the Pacific Northwest. Trust and believe, the food is something special here.

1. Wazobia — Philadelphia, PA

Nigerian cuisine is a special type of cuisine that everyone must try within their lifetimes. One place to give this special cuisine a try is at Wazobia in Philadelphia, which is considered by many to be one of the best Nigerian restaurants in the country. Take your pick — the Jollof Rice with beef? Spectacular. The Fufu with okra soup? Simply to die for! Whatever dish you order, you certainly won’t be disappointed with a Nigerian meal at Wazobia.

Bonus Pick: Nailah’s Kitchen — Baltimore, MD

I couldn’t close out this slideshow without giving a shoutout to Nailah’s Kitchen in Baltimore! The flavor of the dishes here are simply divine, and you’ll truly get a taste of African when you pulled up to the table at one of Baltimore’s best restaurants. One dish I recommend? The Dibi Lamb, which is so flavorful, you’ll be dancing right in the middle of the restaurant.

So, what’s your favorite African restaurant? We would love to know!
