Ben & Jerry’s co-founder is launching a Bernie Sander-inspired ice cream, and people are not happy.
Ben Cohen, co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, has gotten political before, this isn’t the first time they have Sanders’ back. The brand launched “Bernie’s Yearning” back in 2016, and they are once again coming out with another line just in time for the 2020 primaries, “Bernie’s Back.”
Naturally, not everyone is happy about it. While some love when brands stand up for what they believe and aren’t afraid to speak up, others prefer silence and indifference from companies. Where do you stand?
Cohen announced this upcoming flavor via a tweet, which you can check out below:
Those who don’t have a preference or are in Bernie Sanders’ favor are probably curious about the taste, and Delish has all the details! According to the source, the flavor is being described as “hot cinnamon ice cream with one very large chocolate disc on top and a (very stiff) buffer toffee backbone going down the middle.” Yes, the description is intended to symbolize Sanders.
