Arby’s owner is snatching up Jimmy John’s

Inspire Brands, the company that owns Arby’s and Buffalo Wild Wings, is adding another fast casual restaurant to its roster — Jimmy John’s.

Jimmy John’s has a new owner! According to Business Insider, the fast casual sandwich chain known for their “freaky fast delivery” is now being delivered to Inspire Brands, the parent owner of Arby’s and Buffalo Wild Wings.

While the exact dollar amount of this transaction has yet-to-be-determined, we can be sure that it will be a pretty penny for the growing restaurant conglomerate. However, it will be money well spent as Jimmy John’s is fast becoming the leading sandwich shop chain in America.

"“Jimmy John’s is a great fit for the Inspire family,” Inspire Brand’s cofounder and CEO Paul Brown said in a press statement on Wednesday announcing the acquisition."

Jimmy John’s was born in a converted garage in Charleston, Illinois in 1983, and has grown into a fast casual powerhouse. They are best known for their “freaky fast delivery,” ensuring that customers get their meal in under 15 minutes. This isn’t Inspire Brands’ only big acquisition in Sept., as earlier this month, the company purchased Sonic for a whopping $2.3 billion.

Inspire Brands has been on an empire-building spree of late, snatching up iconic fast food properties as it aims to become one of the largest restaurant operators in the world. In fact, they’re the purchase of Jimmy John’s now makes Inspire Brands the fourth-largest restaurant company in the U.S.

As it stands right now, Jimmy John’s will be in good hands with Inspire, who, under its watch, has turned around Arby’s and continued the growth streak of Buffalo Wild Wings.
