Cutwater Spirits is branching out from their current line of products to offer their first ever Tequila. And we are here for the introduction of Rayador Tequila Blanco.

As with any distillery, growth is about more than just sales. It is also about offering new and innovative products that keep your customers coming back for more. And it looks like part of Cutwater Spirits‘ growth includes introducing their very first Tequila.

While Cutwater might best be known for their canned cocktails, they are working hard to expand their portfolio of offerings to give fans more to love. And as they look to bring a diverse array of spirits to the market, the distillery is branching out from their vodkas and giving Tequila the spotlight.

As a press release from the company explains, as part of their first foray into the world of Tequila, they are introducing the Rayador Tequila Blanco, made with 100 percent blue agave. Considering the company has spent the last two years traveling to Jalisco, Mexico in an effort to perfect their recipe, it makes sense that when they call this an “authentic Tequila” they really do mean it.

According to Yuseff Cherney, Cutwater’s founder, “Because tequila has to be made and bottled in specific regions in Mexico in order to be called ‘100% agave tequila’, it was impossible for us to make it here in San Diego like we do with everything else.” Which of course explains why they spent two years traveling back and forth between their distillery and Mexico, especially if they wanted to offer customers an authentic product.

Cherney went on to say that, “I did not want to just put a label on a bottle, we wanted to understand the process completely. So we went down there, designed and built the equipment specifically for our needs, distilled with some of the best distillers, making sure it met Cutwater’s mentality of producing spirits, in both flavor and authenticity.”

If ever there was a distillery looking to be on the cutting edge, while using tradition and a desire to offer a premium product, Cutwater Spirits would have to be at the top of the list. Not only did their founder and master distiller do all of this work to make a high-end Tequila, but they did it with a vision that allowed them to stay true to the very traditional roots of the spirit itself.

The Cutwater Rayador Tequila Blanco offers fans of this particular spirit a sip that offers notes of cooked agave, as well as an aroma that reminds you of a grassy area, but not in a way that is overpowering.
