Throwback Tuesday: McDonald’s is brining back nostalgic Happy Meals

This year marks the 40th anniversary of McDonald’s Happy Meals and they are celebrating in a very special and nostalgic way!

When we were all younger (so much younger), our days were made when we got a Happy Meal after school. We quickly ate the nuggets and fries (or cheeseburger), but were always the most excited about the toys. Still today, McDonald’s Happy Meals offer the best toys for kids in the fast food industry.

Chick-fil-A has healthier options, sure, but the toys don’t even compare. And Wendy’s has an awful selection, always has. The same can be said for other fast food joints such as Jack in the Box. Simply put, Happy Meals remain undefeated, and 2019 marks their 40th anniversary! Things are about to get nostalgic.

Over the years, McDonald’s has changed their toys selection to accommodate new generations. More often than not, the toys promote a children’s film that is in theaters (The Incredibles, Life of Pets). But soon, we’ll be seeing very familiar toys as the fast food restaurant is bringing back retro Happy Meals.

McDonald’s will be re-releasing some of its most popular toys back in the day, from Ty Beanie Babies, Power Rangers figures, and more! Parents, you won’t want to miss out on some sweet memories. I’m very curious to see what the reaction of the younger crowd is.

When can you drive by a McDonald’s for a retro box? Hurry! This will only be happening for 5 days! Beginning Nov. 7 through Nov. 11, stop by for a “Surprise Happy Meal.” That’s right, don’t ask for a regular kid’s meal, these are Surprise Happy Meals.
