What’s the most popular Thanksgiving dish in your state? Let’s have a look and see if the majority agree with your favorite!

Everyone’s favorite eating holiday is right around the corner, which means dreaming about which of your Thanksgiving favorites will be served. With so many different dishes, there are bound to be some varying favorites as you make your way around the United States.

As was the case with Halloween, any holiday that involves eating needs an official poll or survey so everyone can see what the most popular food choices are in your state and every where else around the country. For Thanksgiving this year, the home design website House Method took the honors of creating two maps that break down the most popular “savory” and “sweet” Turkey Day dishes in each state.

Let’s look at the most popular and beloved Thanksgiving dinner dishes:

There are two ways someone can break down these two surveys. The “incredibly normal” sweet survey and the “Oh my god where did we go wrong” savory survey. Just one glance at the savory survey (which includes most of the dinner options and you’ll see exactly what I mean).

Forget the fact that a majority of the country is just boring and said that the roasted turkey is their favorite part of Thanksgiving, but you have six states that legitimately said the salad is their favorite dish, three states proclaiming that their favorite part of Turkey Day is deviled eggs, and then six states seriously said DRESSING was their favorite part of the holiday (I don’t want to call anyone out, but those six states have to do better).

On the sweet side of things, the final tally was a bit more normal; Pumpkin pie led the way with 14 states claiming it as their favorite, followed very closely by brownies who received 13 votes as the Thanksgiving favorite sweet. Third place was pecan pie and apple fritters, apple pie, and sweet potato pie were some of the other favorites on the list.

No matter what the Thanksgiving favorites are or how obscure they might seem, don’t forget to remember the true meaning of the holiday; Eating until you burst and spending time with your family, friends and loved ones!
