It’s no secret that getting coffee at Starbucks costs you more than it does at another coffee shop, but it doesn’t always need to be this way! Here are some money-saving hacks you need to know.

Gotta love Starbucks! From their gorgeous seasonal tumblers and cups to the unique flavors, there’s no shortage of fun and delicious drinks. However, stopping by once a day on our way to work each morning (and after, if we’re being honest), adds up! Can you blame us, though? Their coffee, tea, and other drink offerings are too good to resist. Instead of sacrificing your daily coffee, we are here to present a few money-saving hacks you need to know to begin saving money now.

The following hacks are mostly little known facts we’ve dug up or found online while searching how to spend less, but drink more!

BYOC: Save some plastic AND money by bringing your own cup or mug to Starbucks! Each time you bring a reusable cup or mug, Starbucks will discount $.10 cents. Hey, it may not seem like much, but if you buy Starbucks at least 20 times a month, for example, that’s $2. It’ll add up eventually, and you’ll feel great about helping the environment.

Starbucks rewards: This is an easy one! If you really drink this much coffee, you likely already know and are signed up for the Starbucks Rewards program. If you’re not, you’ll want to get in on this ASAP! Members earn points for each purchase that add up to rewards such as swag and free coffee.

Downsize: Do we truly need all that coffee? Try ordering a Short coffee instead of the Tall size. Eight ounces is enough to satisfy your coffee craving and get you through the morning, anything larger is just overindulging.

Bank of America: BoA members earn money back by using their debit or credit card at one of their many shops they are partnering with (from online retailers to restaurants), and one of the stores that is always present is Starbucks. BoA members earn 5% back from their Starbucks purchase. And if you visit Starbucks and four other stores each month (Starbucks can count more than once), you’ll get $5 back on top of the 5% per visit.

T-Mobile: If you are a T-Mobile customer, are you signed up for T-Mobile Tuesdays? You should! Each Tuesday, the cell phone company gives away awesome deals. Just recently, T-Mobile gave members a $3 Starbucks gift card.

Water: Need water in between coffee sips? Ask for a cup of water (or bring your own cup) and you’ll get it for free. It’s better than buying an overpriced bottle of water.

Deals on deals: Keep an eye out for deals and discounts, they are everywhere if you know where to look. From their Happy Hour discounts (every Thursday in December, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.) to BOGO Free.
