Welcome crawfish season at Austin’s Crawfish Festival this spring

BERLIN, GERMANY - MAY 08: Caught red swamp crayfish (procambarus clarkii, also known as Louisiana crayfish) are presented during a media opportunity in waters in Tiergarten park on May 8, 2018 in Berlin, Germany. The red swamp crayfish is native to northern Mexico and the southern United States and is believed to have been introduced to lakes and creeks in and around Berlin by people who had them as pets. The crayfish have multiplied dramatically, so much so that Berlin authorities, fearing negative effects of an invasive species, have given fisherman Klaus Hidde a license to catch as many of them as he can. Authorities are allowing him to sell the creatures, which are red and on average about 15cm long, to local restaurants. (Photo by Carsten Koall/Getty Images)

The holiday season may not be over just yet, but it’s never too early to plan for crawfish season! And no other place is doing it better (or bigger) than Austin, Texas!

Not everyone loves crawfish, I understand that. If you don’t, leave now. This isn’t the page for you. All crawfish lovers, read on for the event of the year (or, spring, at least). Here’s everything you need to know about Austin’s upcoming crawfish festival.

Real texans love two foods above all else: Tacos and crawfish, and Austin is food central for both! This spring, Austin will once again be hosting a crawfish festival. Mark your calendars, The Austin Crawfish Festival will be taking place on Saturday, April 4.

Aside from crawfish, featured food includes shrimp, crab, oysters and more. Basically, this is seafood heaven. Are you a vegan? No worries, food will be available for all tastebuds and lifestyles. The source shares that there will also be a “full-blown oyster bar.” This is what dreams are made of, guys. Well, for seafood lovers anyway.

Are you in? We thought so! Tickets are on sale now HERE, and there is something that fits every budget. From just a general admission ticket starting at $5 (you’ll have to pay for food separately) or a $30 VIP All You Can Eat ticket (sign me up for this one!). What will you be getting?

This is free for all kids under 12 years of age! What’s in it for them besides delicious food? Bounce houses, interactive games, photo booths, and more will also be there to entertain. Everyone will also get to enjoy from other food vendors, DJ’s and live performances.

dark. Next. New irrestitable trio deal is going on at On the Border

Will you be making a trip down to Austin for this? Or are you lucky enough to live nearby? To me, Austin is a 3.5hr drive away, worth the trip! See ya’ll there!
