Savory Sunday: Golden Chick is underrated

Chick-fil-A, Raising Cane’s, KFC and several others always land on the top of the list of our favorite fast food chicken joints, but what about Golden Chick?

My family and I buy our meals from Golden Chick at least twice a month, it’s one of our favorite places to go to for chicken, especially on the weekends! The prices are fair and competitive for the quality of the food, and the chicken and sides are some of the best in the fast food chicken game. But we noticed we don’t see Golden Chick promoted as much as other restaurants.

A quick search of the top fast food chicken restaurants fail to include Golden Chick. The fast food casual restaurant may only be available in some states, but so are several of the joints included in many lists, such as Jollibee, Zaxby’s, and Bojangles — all of which I have never heard of or tried.

So if small locations are being included, why not Golden Chick? What is it that makes them so underrated? I suppose, it all comes down to what we love and what’s more popular. You can’t blame most consumers going to KFC, Church’s Chicken, and Popeyes instead of Golden Chick, people follow what’s trending.

Still, if you have never tried Golden Chick, you need to! Introduce your taste buds to something new, you won’t regret it!

And hey, maybe Golden Chick just doesn’t care. We visited their Twitter and it hasn’t been updated since 2016. 2016! Who doesn’t keep up with social media nowadays? Maybe the fast food restaurant is content with their decent following and don’t wish to go big. Hey, to each their own!
