Need a new Mexican restaurant to try? Next time, try Chuy’s Tex-Mex. Trust me, you’ll certainly be glad that you did!

If you’re out of ideas on what to cook for dinner and like Mexican food, give Chuy’s Tex-Mex a try! It’s the perfect place to get some super authentic Mexican food that has perfect amounts of spice, cheese, meat, and flavor nonetheless! Below, you will see just why Chuy’s is my most favorite of Mexican food around.

I was naive and thought that Chuy’s was just a thing near me (Schaumburg, IL location near Woodfield Shopping Center/Mall). However, they have tons of locations all around the United States, roughly 92 locations be exact in fact!

The first original location of Chuy’s began and was in Austin, Texas back in April 16, 1982, Chuy’s opened up their first location on the iconic Barton Springs Road in an old abandoned Texas BBQ joint about the size of a women’s restroom the size of a broom closet (according to their website).

Upon putting their name in Google, you know how restaurants will have a little catch phrase or something about them underneath it? Well, here’s Chuy’s little slogan:

"Chain serving “big as yo’ face” burritos & other Tex-Mex dishes in kitschy, Elvis-heavy settings."

Now, what about that saying sounds like a place you wouldn’t like? Absolutely none of it. If you find yourself living by a Chuy’s location, here are some things you should definitely try out:

  • Fajita Chicken Burrito smothered in their Signature Queso Sauce
  • Chips & Queso (and Salsa too, of course)
  • A side of their Signature Guac with literally everything
  • Their Wednesday Special: Spinach Chicken Enchiladas – when their full menu comes back (but just ask them to make it; they’ve got all the ingredients, including one of THE MOST delicious sauces you will ever taste, their Green Chile Cream Sauce (holy moly it’s freaking fantastic like I was flabbergasted by it)!

Once again, please do me and yourself a favor and give Chuy’s Tex-Mex a try, you won’t be sorry! Let us know what you thought, what you tried, what your favorite thing was!
