Has KFC quietly replaced Potato Wedges with fries?

Say it ain’t so! According to a report from Business Insider and more evidence gathered by Chewboom, KFC has replaced their beloved Potato Wedges for regular fries. Needless to say, we are not happy.

I don’t know about you, but there are several foodie folks who love KFC’s Potato Wedges more than most menu items. They are just that delicious! In fact, I would often stop by for just these as a snack (along with a drink).

Learning that the fast food joint is getting rid of this iconic menu item is a huge disappointment for all KFC fans. According to Business Insider, the chicken chain has confirmed that it will be offering “Secret Recipe” fries, instead of Potato Wedges. No thank you!

Why would we want regular fries when every other fast food restaurant already has this? Potato Wedges is one of the many ways KFC stood out from the rest. What a bummer! For fries, we can go to any other place.

Secret Recipe Fries were tested in some of the chain’s locations last year and were a hit, or so says a KFC representative.

"“While we know there are wedge-lovers out there who may be disappointed, consumer response to our Secret Recipe Fries during the test and the rollout has been overwhelmingly positive,” Business Insider quoted a representative of KFC stating."

I would say that “disappointed” is an understatement.

What do you think about this? As if 2020 needed another reason to bring us all down.

If you are not happy with Potato Wedges no longer being on available, sound off! Let your voice be heard and express how you feel. Honesty is the best policy, and, who knows, maybe our loud disappointment will make KFC change their mind and bring back Potato Wedges. A foodie can dream!
